Kaspersky, a cybersecurity company, has warned that children in Pakistan face growing cybersecurity risks while using social media, online games, and AI. By analysing children’s digital activity across the META region during the first eight months of 2026, the findings showed that YouTube was the most popular mobile application among Pakistani children, accounting for 31.2% of usage followed by Instagram (18.8%), WhatsApp (17.4%), Facebook (10.8%), and TikTok (5.7%). Multiplayer gaming platforms were also among the most visited online resources, creating opportunities for children to communicate with strangers. Kaspersky warned that such interactions can expose children to malicious actors and other online threats.
