Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan held separate meetings with Pakistan Digital Authority and Sky47 representatives to review proposals for an AI-enabled digital trade ecosystem. Discussions focused on treating government trade data as a national asset, standardising and integrating dispersed data across ministries, attached departments, and overseas trade missions, and building sovereign cloud and data-centre infrastructure. The PDA briefed on a national data governance framework covering open, shared, restricted, and personally identifiable information categories. Sky47 presented plans for expanding secure data-centre capacity, covering cybersecurity, disaster recovery, energy-efficient cooling, intelligent storage, and computing requirements for AI models and future quantum workloads.
