According to GSMA’s Mobile Gender Gap Report for 2026, Pakistan has emerged as the world’s most improved country in closing the mobile gender gap. The report found that the gender gap in mobile ownership and internet usage fell between 2024 – 2025 from 37% to 27% and 25% to 8% respectively. Women’s internet use increased significantly, reflecting stronger digital inclusion with 94% of women who own smartphones using mobile internet on a daily basis. However, challenges remain, including affordability, digital literacy, and restrictive social norms that limit women’s independent access to technology.
