Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting reviewing the use of AI and digitalisation in the economy and governance and cooperation with Alibaba, saying the secret to Pakistan’s development lies in AI and digitalisation. He directed that an AI-assisted cancer early-detection system be implemented at the earliest and a 15-day AI training programme for IT graduates be launched under the Ignite programme. OGRA was directed to introduce an analytics system for the petroleum supply chain and ministries were told to complete measures by November. The meeting was informed of AI models for agriculture and a Pakistan pavilion on Alibaba’s platform.
