Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) faces a severe shortage of investigators and that he would raise it with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He said thousands of cases are reported and some require decisions within days. Punjab has a population of around 140 million while the NCCIA has only 61 officers in the province. Naqvi said the government is pursuing cooperation with other countries and maintains daily contact with embassies. He called for a nationwide awareness campaign to protect women and girls from online blackmail and advised people not to share personal photographs online.
