An FIR was registered under PECA Sections 20 and 26-A for allegedly disseminating false information. A judicial magistrate rejected NCCIA’s request for a 10-day remand, granting three days instead. On September 10, remand was extended by two more days after NCCIA cited difficulty accessing Ghauri’s two-step-verified social media accounts. His lawyer argued no specific false statement had been identified and that all devices were already in NCCIA custody.
