An anti-terrorism court in Sahiwal sentenced two men to death after they were convicted for posting a blasphemous post on Facebook. The case stemmed from a 2024 complaint filed by a police officer, who alleged that one accused had published the post while the other shared it on his Facebook account. Prosecutors argued that the content offended religious sentiments and promoted religious hatred. In addition to the death sentence, each convict received seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs1.5 million.
