The Committee to Protect Journalists said journalists Razi Tahir and Muhammad Saif were seized from their Islamabad office by men in police uniforms on August 1 and taken to an undisclosed location, according to a colleague’s post on X and a local journalist who spoke on condition of anonymity. Police in Islamabad have not acknowledged their detention. Kashmiri journalist Raja Ikram, detained the same day, was later released. CPJ’s Waliullah Rahmani called the disappearances “part of an escalating effort to silence independent reporting” on the unrest in Pakistan administered Kashmir.
