The Ministry of IT and Telecommunication’s public consultation period on the draft National Data Governance Policy 2026 closes today. The draft names government data a “strategic national asset,” grants citizens the right to know which officials accessed their personal data and when, and assigns the Pakistan Digital Authority to oversee implementation. IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the policy will be notified once feedback has been reviewed.
