Two journalists, Irshad Bhatti and Anwar Sumra, tendered unconditional apologies after being summoned by the NCCIA over a complaint filed by Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman. The complaint alleged they had spread false claims on digital platforms that Rs225 million in public funds were spent on renovating his official residence's lawns. A third journalist, Salman Haider, could not appear due to travel. A TV channel bureau chief also apologised. The complaint cited reputational harm and damage to public confidence in a senior official.
