Pakistan’s National Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) has launched an investigation after several television channels, websites and mobile applications within the country faced coordinated cyberattacks. The incident, occurring on Sunday night, prompted government officials and cybersecurity experts to review the situation. Initial findings show that the primary attack targeted the country’s state-owned satellite system, PakSat, which helped disrupt transmissions across multiple TV channels. The government claims no state or private websites were affected. Alerts and advisories have been issued by CERT to government departments and key private institutions.
