The Balochistan government has launched a Digital Financial Management Information System, including Finance GPT and an e-filing mechanism, to improve governance and transparency. Announced by Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, the initiative links provincial data on budgets, projects, and human resources to allow public access and policymaker analysis. The system is designed to reduce bureaucratic delays, strengthen accountability, and encourage citizen participation. It also aims to enhance investor confidence by minimising red tape. However, challenges remain, including limited internet access, energy shortages, and resistance from vested interests. If sustained, the reforms could transform governance and improve service delivery across the province.
