Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani launched the Senate’s official mobile application at a ceremony attended by IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja and senators. Gilani described the app as part of a broader digital transformation aimed at bringing parliament closer to citizens, enhancing transparency, and countering misinformation. The launch came despite a continued blackout of the Senate’s live proceedings on state-run PTV Parliament and the Senate’s YouTube channel, an issue raised repeatedly by both treasury and opposition members without resolution. The Senate secretariat has already adopted the e-office system. Edited proceedings are sometimes uploaded to YouTube a day after sessions.
