The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council initiated preliminary hearings concerning three cases, including two medical student suicides linked to harassment and an inappropriate operating theater video leak. President Rizwan Taj emphasized a zero-tolerance policy regarding institutional negligence and misconduct. Five doctors involved in the surgical video scandal, which showed callous behavior during procedures, attended the hearing. Additionally, principals from colleges in Lahore and Mirpurkhas provided testimony regarding the tragic deaths of students Fareeha and Fehmida Leghari. All matters have been referred to the PMDC Disciplinary Committee for final adjudication to ensure student protection and effective grievance redressal in medical colleges.
