The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department launched a student e-attendance system in degree colleges across the province, enabling parents to monitor their children’s attendance through SMS alerts. The system was inaugurated by Provincial Minister Meena Khan Afridi at Government Degree College Peshawar. The Higher Education Department and Zong Telecom signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate the system. SMS alerts will include details of classes in which a student was absent. The department has previously introduced an e-transfer system and a university ranking system. Construction of a new facility at Government Degree College Peshawar was also announced at the ceremony.
