An armed man opened fire on journalist Nazar Muhammad Kanrani in Dera Allahyar, killing him on the spot and injuring his brother. Police arrested a suspect and launched an investigation, though a motive was not immediately known. Kanrani served as vice president of the Awami Press Club Sohbatpur.
