Cybersecurity firm SentinelOne reported finding evidence of multiple hacking campaigns between February 2024 and April 2026, carried out by China and India linked threat actors against Pakistani law enforcement agencies, most notably the Balochistan police, whose network equipment, web servers, and Complaint Management System were targeted. Other targets included the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, Islamabad police, and the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA), the agency running surveillance systems for major Punjab cities. Researcher Aleksandar Milenkoski said convergent interest from multiple state-linked actors signals these institutions hold high-value data on Pakistan’s internal security posture. Chinese interest may relate to the safety of Chinese nationals in Pakistan; Indian-linked interest may relate to bilateral tensions. China’s Washington embassy denied state involvement; the Indian embassy did not respond. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police said no core system had been confirmed compromised.
